2022 Was A Busy Year for DCH

January 28, 2023

2022 was a very busy year for us at Deaf Child Hope. We wanted to share some of the highlights!

Two Missions Trips-

Honduras in March visiting two of our partners there.  As well as Jamaica in October to visit one partner and all three of their campus’.

JD lost his father a year ago in January to COVID. Duane King will be remembered and admired by many for so many reasons. He was the founder of Deaf Missions and we rejoice that many deaf people are able to learn about the word of God through sign language because of his work when they may not have otherwise.

Lances Deaf Orphans (LDO) in Kenya is more than a partner for DCH. We are responsible for the school and the well-being of the children in it.  DCH keeps the campus funded and orchestrates whatever is necessary to meet the needs of the children and staff who live there. The school’s director, Winston, stays in continuous contact and keeps us updated on all of the ongoings on the LDO campus and we love seeing the occasions ourselves through pictures such as the ones below.

(new computers, solar panels, new sportswear, bunk beds, mattresses and sheets, desks, students off to secondary school)

The new DCH office building in Papillon, NE is close to completion. All that is left is some painting and other last final touches. The staff that lives in and near Papillon will soon be able to move and settle in there in the very near future.

Each year we send out an annual report of the “DCH Numbers” for the previous year. If you are on our mailing list you will be getting the DCH 2022 Annual Report mailed to you soon. Here are some of our favorites.

There are a total of 252 deaf children sponsored and 23 teachers of deaf children sponsored now through Deaf Child Hope. Deaf child sponsors live in 36 different states and 3 countries. $163,311 was sent to our partners in the year 2022 and since the time of Deaf Child Hope’s inception (2010), over one million dollars has been sent out to provide hope for deaf children in poverty!….$1,046,122 to be exact. Praise the Lord! This is such a big deal and thanks to all of you for helping us achieve this milestone!

We are already on the move working on plans to reach more deaf children in poverty in 2023!

Stay Tuned!
