Rudy is a very smart and capable student. He lives with his paternal grandparents who have always tried to help him with his schooling even though they themselves had very little formal education. He is officially a sixth grader but is in the process of receiving permission from the Secretary of Education in Honduras to advance to seventh grade because of his potential.
