Lance’s Deaf Orphans Place 2nd At Drama Festival
Deaf Child Hope, International just received some wonderful news from our partner in Kenya, Africa.
Lance’s Deaf Orphans (LDO) was invited to participate in the County Government of Kisii’s Drama Festival in February. According to KTN News Kenya, ‘thousands of people gather for the annual sports and culture festival that always marks the start of the New Year.’
LDO Director, Winston Omondi, shared the results: “We went for the Drama Festivals and we are glad and full of joy to inform you and Deaf Child Hope that Lance’s Deaf Orphans won one TROPHY and three CERTIFCATES and received recognition from the county Government.”
As a result of this achievement, Lance’s Deaf Orphans will compete in the Regional Drama Festival in Oyugis, Kenya and then the National Drama Festival in Meru County.
Oftentimes, deaf children in Africa are isolated and considered outcasts or cursed. It is quite an accomplishment for these deaf orphans to be invited to participate and to be recognized in such a festival.
Please join us in rejoicing with them and congratulating these young men and women on excellent work. We are proud of you!
